FosterCare UK is looking for caring and friendly people in Medway to become foster parents. We are an independent fostering agency who works with local authorities around Kent and the South East of England, including Medway council, to provide much needed fostering services. We support children and young people who, for what ever reason, are unable to live with their family.
If you have ever thought about becoming a foster carer, we urge you to get in touch and foster in Medway. We are also looking for existing foster carers who are interested in a transfer to the FosterCare UK team.
It couldn’t be easier to take your first steps towards becoming a foster parent. All you need to do is make sure you have a spare room and then contact us – either by phone or online. We don’t turn down applicants based on race, age, gender, relationship status or orientation. We think that fostering is for anyone with a heart big enough to provide such a service.
Once you’ve started the process we’ll come over for a quick chat and to fill out a Form F Assessment. This gives us a chance to see your home and meet you and your family to make sure that you’ve got everything you need to care for a foster child. This includes making sure you have the required spare room – though patience, a caring soul and a sense of humour go a long way too!
Once you have completed your assessment you will work closely with a supervising social worker to continue the fostering application process. They will be able to give you more information about fostering and looking after foster children and will be on hand to answer any of your questions.
Taking on a foster child or young person in need can be a daunting prospect. If you decide to foster with us however, we will make sure that neither you – nor your foster child – are left without the support you need. In our last Ofsted report, our assessor stated that our “Carers are extremely positive about the learning and development opportunities provided by the agency.†This is in large thanks to our professional South East fostering services team. This team, along with your social worker, will provide extensive and constant training and support – however you need it. No matter if you’re still on your way to becoming a foster carer or you already have a child or young person in your care.
As a carer with FosterCare UK you will also be provided with maintenance allowances to help cover the cost of your foster placement. The amount provided will depend on several different factors, including the age of your placement.
If you decide that you want to start fostering in Medway, we urge you to get in touch with us. By providing such a fostering service you will be changing the life of a child or young person in your area. If you are already providing foster care, then we also welcome applicants looking to transfer to us from another agency – a process we aim to make as simple so to provide stable conditions for you and your placement.
