Medway’s streets will be turning red, white and blue as residents celebrate the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla on Saturday, 6 May 2023.
Residents will be raising a toast to the Coronation at the 30 street parties taking place across Medway over the bank holiday weekend.
If you are not heading to a street party, come down to Rochester Castle Gardens to mark the Coronation in the picturesque castle gardens, with Rochester Castle providing the perfect backdrop for these royal celebrations.
The castle gardens will be open over the whole bank holiday weekend with plenty on offer for everyone, including a big screen showing free live coverage of the Coronation and Coronation Concert, family-friendly entertainment, a funfair and much more.
A historic moment for the whole country
Dee O’Rourke, Medway Council’s Assistant Director of Culture and Community, said: “The Coronation is a historic moment for the whole country, and I’m delighted that there are a whole host of events being held across Medway to mark this significant occasion. Whether you’re attending one of the events we have set up, going along to one of the street parties or hosting your own event with friends and family, we hope everyone has an amazing Coronation weekend.”
