A new initiative has launched to help residents keep their homes warm whilst lowering their carbon emissions and saving money on fuel bills.
We are encouraging residents to find out if they’re eligible for the Green Homes Grant for home improvements that will increase warmth and comfort in their home.
The scheme offers a wide range of insulation measures and renewable heating technologies, which are designed to reduce the impact of heating homes upon the environment.
Warmworks, on behalf of us, will arrange home surveys to find eligible homeowners and to agree what work can be carried out. A local sub-contractor team will then complete the agreed heating and energy-efficient installations and an inspection will take place to make sure work is up to quality standards. Where required, Warmworks will also arrange for a full annual service to be completed, 12 months after instillation.
Stay warm whilst saving money
Cllr Howard Doe, Medway Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing and Community Services, said: “The Green Home Grants scheme is a great way to help residents stay comfortable and warm at home whilst saving money and helping the environment. We are working hard to achieve net zero carbon across Medway by 2050 and this project supports our ongoing climate change work. I would encourage residents, including low-income households, to find out more about the scheme.”
Feel warmer, healthier and happier in your home
Ross Armstrong, Warmworks Managing Director, said: “On the back of the COP26 conference in Glasgow, I’m delighted that Warmworks is working in partnership with Medway Council to deliver the Green Homes Grant scheme. Not only does the renewable heating technology available under it offer local people an opportunity to reduce their carbon emissions and support the transition to Net Zero, but as the colder weather hits, one of the most important benefits we can offer through the scheme is to help people across Medway to feel warmer, healthier and happier in their homes during these winter months. A few minutes to complete our short application could help your home stay warmer for years ahead.”
You can find out if you are eligible for the scheme by completing the short application form or by calling Warmworks free of charge on 0808 196 8255.
