Residents and businesses across Medway impacted by the risk of flooding have the opportunity to have their say on our new Local Flood Risk Management Strategy.
Medway Council works closely with Southern Water and the Environment Agency to ensure we have the right measures in place to help keep Medway safe from the impact of flooding.
As a Lead Local Flood Authority, Medway Council is responsible for managing flood risks relating to surface water, groundwater, streams and ditches. The Local Flood Risk Management Strategy outlines how Medway Council will manage these risks up to 2028.
The strategy also outlines how Medway can become more resilient to flooding and ensure we have the right processes in place to properly prepare for future flooding events.
The consultation opens on Monday, 15 January and will close on Thursday, 29 February at 11.59pm.
