Chatham councillors join church anniversary celebrations

Chatham Central councillors were pleased to join the community in celebrating the 200th anniversary of St John’s church.

Chatham Central Labour & Co-op Councillor Siju Adeoye said:

“It is great after such a long time of closure to see this brilliant church reopening in the heart of Chatham. I know there has been a huge team effort in bringing this about and have no doubt the church will go from strength to strength”

Vince Maple, Medway Labour & Co-op Group Leader and Chatham Central Councillor, added:

“My congratulations to everyone involved in the 200th birthday party for St John’s. For more than two decades the doors have been closed, to see them reopened this weekend with an amazing organ recital and a community party has been brilliant. I wish Martyn, Luke and the whole team every success moving forward”
